Furen International School launches UNSW College Foundation Studies Program in Singapore

Furen International School (FIS) is proud to announce the official launch of the UNSW College Foundation Studies Program to be delivered at FIS’s landmark campus in the Orchard area. This collaboration marks a significant step in providing quality educational opportunities and trusted pathways for students in Singapore and the wider region to undergraduate programs at the University of New South Wales, Sydney.
Ms. Sarah Lightfoot, CEO of UNSW College, at the launch, highlighted the distinctive nature of the Foundation Studies Program, emphasizing its alignment with global standards established by UNSW Sydney, presently ranked 19th worldwide.
Mr. Brad Hall, Head of TNE, UNSW College, expanded on the core of the program, which mirrors the high calibre curriculum provided in Sydney, ensuring a consistent educational experience globally. The program’s thorough approach equips students through specialized streams which are Commerce or Actuarial Studies, Arts & Social Sciences, Design & Architecture, Physical or Life Science, and Science & Engineering.
Ms. Chua Soon Choo, Deputy Regional Director (ASEAN & NA), Division of Education & Student Experience, UNSW Sydney, highlighted the vibrant campus life that awaits students in Australia. This includes a rich array of clubs, societies, wellness activities, and initiatives promoting academic and career success. The integrated model goes beyond academic excellence, focusing on imparting interpersonal skills, fostering teamwork capabilities, and providing a deep understanding of the global job market. This holistic approach ensures that students are well prepared for their future careers.

Delivered in collaboration with UNSW College, the 9-month Standard Foundation Programme equips students with the academic and cultural competencies needed for success in disciplines such as Vision Science, Nutrition, and Pharmaceutical Medicine.
Specifically designed for students who have completed IGCSE/0 Level, the programme offers a fast-track alternative to the traditional A-Level route. Students who successfully complete the programme can progress directly to undergraduate studies at UNSW Sydney, one of Australia’s top universities.
