Alumni talk series – Zhao Yihan
Want to know how our alumni are doing at university? Let’s take the experience of Zhao Yihan. After graduating from FIS, Yihan achieved her dream of attending NTU, where she is pursuing a degree in sociology. However, her transition to university life was not without challenges.
From the outset, she found NTU to be a fast-paced environment with numerous assignments due in a short time. As an international student, she faced the additional hurdle of completing coursework primarily in English, which made it even more demanding. Despite these obstacles, Yihan’s passion for sociology remains strong.
When asked about her approach to balancing academic responsibilities, she emphasized that her focus is not on finding a balance between studying and leisure, but rather on managing her various tasks. By strategically organizing her workload and staying disciplined, she has been able to carve out some free time for herself.
Yihan’s experience teaches us an important lesson: those who are strong do not complain about their circumstances; they take action to change them.
